About

RBV is part of the International Thespian Society as troop number 4556. We joined the society in 1988 and there are over 600 members in our troop alone, including several Rancho teachers. Being part of ITS is no easy task. It takes a week-long process of intense initiation, daring prowess, and bravery. Actually...it's quite fun and easy. For more info, talk to Ms. Scott!

Members

In Addition to Bravo Club, RBV has a club dedicated to the International Thespian Society also know as ITS Club. The ITS club meets on Thursdays in room 412 during lunch.

ITS Inductions

Thespian indoc week is so much fun! It is a long standing tradition not only at RBV, but for thespians around the world!
  • Once you've earned 10 thespian points (if that's confusing, just ask Ms. Scott or another thespian!) you can sign up during a Thursday Bravo Club meeting to be a Squire (incoming thespian).
  • You can request, or be assigned, a Sire thespian (someone whose already in the troop).
  • Your Sire Thespian will select 3 costumes for you to wear, and with them, catch phrases for you to say, based on a character they've chosen. You'll have a different character each day!
  • You'll be given a lil' thespian hat that you will wear inside out for the week.
  • You'll bring breakfast for your thespian and write them a poem that will be read to them on the last day.
  • The final ceremony will be held at the end of the week with all the thespians and other indocs present! There you'll turn your hat outside right and pledge to be a lifetime member of the international Thespian Society.
  • Finally, you can enjoy your new status as a member of the International Thespian Society! Most importantly, check out the ITS Festival below!

NOTE: Everything is done in good fun! If a task during Indocs makes you uncomfortable, talk to your Sire, another thespian, or Ms. Scott. You are never forced to do anything. Also, you'll be doing this with many of your peers! Everywhere you go on campus you'll see yellow and blue hats and ridiculous costumes- its all fun!

ITS Festival

Part of being a thespian is going to the California State Thespian Festival every year. It's not mandatory, but it's a great experience. While you're there you can:
  • Take workshops on Dance, Acting, Make up, Technical Theatre, the Business, etc. - you choose!
  • Submit performances to be judged and get feedback on!
  • See other schools and meet other thespians from all across California!
  • See performances by other schools and thespians!
  • And obviously, because its a weekend event, have fun at the hotel with your friends!
